This Privacy Policy describes how Tech Entrepreneurs Association of Mumbai (“TEAM”, “we”, “us”) collects and uses personal data when you visit mumbaitechweek.com or interact with us about Mumbai Tech Week 2026 (the “Event”).

This policy is written to comply with the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDP), India’s primary law on personal data. If you access this site from outside India, please see Section 12 below.

1. Who we are

Tech Entrepreneurs Association of Mumbai (TEAM) is the data fiduciary responsible for personal data collected through this site.

2. What personal data we collect

We collect personal data in two ways.

Information you give us directly. When you submit the Partner With Us form on this site, we collect:

Full name
Email address
Phone number
Organisation name
Designation
A description of the partnership opportunity you are exploring

Information collected automatically when you visit the site:

IP address (used by Google Analytics in derived form to estimate approximate country and city; full IPs are not stored or visible to us)
Device type, operating system, browser, and screen resolution
Pages viewed, time spent on each page, and the referring URL
Web Vitals performance metrics (LCP, INP, CLS, FCP, TTFB) used to monitor site performance
Cookies set by Google Analytics (see Section 6)

We do not collect special category data (health, biometric, financial details, political opinions, etc.) from this site. We do not directly collect, store, or process sensitive financial information such as card details, banking credentials, or UPI information. Payment-related information is processed securely by our authorised payment gateway providers (such as Razorpay) in accordance with their privacy policies.

By proceeding with any payment or registration on our website, you consent to the collection and sharing of your personal information (including name, contact details, and transaction details) with authorised third-party service providers, including payment gateways such as Razorpay, solely for the purpose of processing your transaction and fulfilling related services.

Payments

Payments on our website are processed through Razorpay or authorised third-party payment providers. We do not store or process your card, banking, or UPI details; such information is handled directly by the payment gateway in accordance with their policies.

By making a payment, you consent to sharing necessary details (such as name, email, and transaction information) with the payment provider for processing.

All transactions are secured using industry-standard encryption. Refunds, if applicable, are processed through the original payment method via the payment gateway.

Refunds and Cancellations: Any refunds or cancellations, where applicable, will be processed in accordance with our policy through the original payment method via our authorised payment gateway (such as Razorpay).

4. Legal basis (DPDP grounds for processing)

We process personal data on the following grounds permitted by DPDP:

Consent. When you submit a form, you provide consent to us using the information for the stated purpose. You may withdraw consent at any time by emailing hello@mumbaitech.team.
Specified legitimate uses. Site analytics and performance monitoring rely on the legitimate-use ground for data the data principal has voluntarily provided in the course of using a digital service, and for ensuring the security of that service.

We share personal data only with service providers that help us run the site and respond to inquiries. We do not sell or rent your personal data to anyone.

When you click links on our site that take you to external services (for example, Dreamcast for pass purchases, Babblebots for job-fair applications, or Typeform for early-stage showcase applications), those services collect personal data under their own privacy policies. We do not control or have access to the data they collect.

We may also share data when legally required (court order, government request, regulatory inquiry).

6. Cookies and tracking technologies

The embedded promotional video uses the privacy-enhanced YouTube domain (youtube-nocookie.com), which does not set tracking cookies until you click play.

We do not use cookies for advertising or remarketing. We will introduce a cookie consent banner that lets you accept or decline analytics cookies before they are set.

7. How long we keep your data

After the retention period we delete or fully anonymise the data, unless we are required by law to keep it longer.

8. Your rights under DPDP

As a data principal, you have the right to:

Access the personal data we hold about you
Have inaccurate or incomplete data corrected
Have your data erased where the legal basis for processing no longer applies
Withdraw any consent you previously gave
Nominate another individual to exercise these rights on your behalf in case of incapacity or death
Lodge a complaint with the Data Protection Board of India

9. International data transfers

Some of our service providers (Netlify, Google, Sanity) store data on servers outside India. By submitting personal data through this site, you acknowledge that it may be transferred to and processed in those jurisdictions. We rely on the contractual safeguards offered by these providers and on DPDP’s permitted-jurisdictions framework as it evolves.

10. Security

We use reasonable security measures to protect personal data, including:

All data submitted to the site is transmitted over HTTPS
Form submissions stored by Netlify are accessible only to authorised TEAM team members
Access to analytics and form data is limited to staff who need it for their role

No system is fully secure. If we discover a personal data breach involving your data, we will notify you and the Data Protection Board as required by DPDP.

11. Children

This site is intended for adults professionally engaged with technology and the Event. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18. If you believe a child has submitted information through the site, please email hello@mumbaitech.team and we will delete it.

12. Users in other jurisdictions

If you are accessing this site from the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or other regions with their own data protection laws, the rights described above may differ from your local rights. You may have additional rights such as data portability, the right to object to specific processing, or the right to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority. Email hello@mumbaitech.team and we will work with you to honour the rights available in your jurisdiction.

13. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The effective date at the top will reflect the most recent version. Material changes will be highlighted on the site for at least 30 days.
